Cazbarr’s interests are volunteering | Web designing
I like to keep myself busy, especially my mind, well, I am getting on a bit now, so I need to keep those cogs turning! I volunteer with two disability-related companies/charities. Disability Horizons & Ruils.
In my spare time, when I have some, I campaign for better access on the high street. To help publicise what I am trying to achieve, I created Accessibility Denied to bring awareness and hopefully help retailers make the necessary changes regarding accessibility and help them understand why it is so important to disabled people.
I am the chairperson & organiser of my NHS wheelchair service user group. The Wheelchair Service User Group is a group of people who have received a wheelchair from the NHS Wheelchair Service.
We meet regularly with service providers and other interested parties to discuss ways of improving provision for wheelchair users. Meetings are held quarterly at Queen Mary’s Hospital.
Our user group is looking for new members to help shape the wheelchair service. If you wish to be part of this user group, please get in touch with me.
I volunteer with Disability Horizons alongside their Partnerships Manager. I work with outside companies and help them with their queries regarding submitting articles/blogs for DH’s website.
Recently, DH have asked me to one of their writes, which I am very excited about. I’ve submitted my first article and awaiting a date for publication.
Accessibility in the 21st century, is not something disabled people should still be fighting for. But unfortunately we are. I created Accessibility Denied to bring awareness and hopefully change, to companies regarding accessibility and help them understand why it is so important to disabled people.
I have had some success as well as some failures. Some retailers just ignore their responsibilities and blatantly tell you they will not change anything. While other retailers are extremely helpful and make the necessary changes.
While enjoying what I do, I have also been to college to learn more about web designing. This included using the following programmes, some of which I am versed in using and others, still learning.
I am in the process of writing about Disability and sex. These subjects are normally taboo, Wheely Lots of Fun breaks those taboos. Having a disability can cause limitations when being intimate with your partner. Therefore needing one to be more inventive and creative.
In my book, I hope to show you that with some changes to positions and how intimate toys can aid in posture and help you achieve your favourite position and enjoy the many pleasures that come with love making!
I have just started learning how to make 3D models using a programme called Blender. I’m taking a course viah Udemy and loving every minute of it. It is extremely confusing at times as I am used to creating 2D images and now having to think in 3D.
I will showcase My Projects for anyone interested in 3D. Whatch this space!
